Every young person should have the chance to lead a healthy, active life. Experiencing sport and physical activity positively from a young age can establish a lifelong habit of participation, supporting the government’s vision for a world-class education system. Physical activity brings numerous benefits to children and young people, enhancing not only their physical health but also their mental wellbeing. It builds self-esteem, improves emotional health, and reduces anxiety and depression. Active children are often happier, more resilient, and more trusting of their peers. By ensuring students engage in daily physical activity, schools can also see improvements in behaviour and academic performance.
